Not bad! Recommended indeed! It´s very curious to think all through it and try to understand who do you sympathize with minute after minute :) I am not often that dubious!

Watched the version dubbed in Spanish, since I couldn't find the original version anywhere in Seville (Spain). As with many other US films these days, it's good entertainment, but nothing extraordinary. It's not a great movie. It's not memorable. It doesn't break new grounds or provide a very creative answer to the question on how the apes ended up ruling our world. Many of the characters (the evil guard at the animal shelter, the greedy business man who only cares about making money out of the genetic discoveries, the lovely veterinarian who somehow becomes involved with the main character in a story that is never developed and is pretty much non-existing, the main character himself...) are way too one-sided and simple, predictable and stereotypical. It compares badly to the original movie, "Planet of the Apes", filmed in 1968. I know, I know, comparisons are never fair. But how else are we supposed to discern the good from the bad? This prequel definitely is just one of many movies that the industry churns out every year. Decent quality. Entertaining. Nothing more.
